U3e1 el 13 - 17 de enero
We will spend the week finishing up Unidad 3e1 and reviewing for the final exam. (Final exam outline and study sheets were given out on Friday, Jan. 10.)
¿Quién Soy? poems will be assigned and completed this week.
Friday, January 17 - Test on Unidad 3e1. Outline will also be given in class. You must know vocab related to the emotions and free time activities. You must also know how to describe how someone is feeling.
ex. María está contenta. María y José están contentos.
You must be able to spell the emotions and show agreement!
You also need to be able to express what someone has just done, using acabar de + infinitive.
ex. Sara is depressed because she just got a bad mark.
Sara está deprimida porque acaba de sacar una mala nota.
You will have three translations like this one!

U3e1 el 6 - el 10 de enero
I hope you all had a great Christmas break!
On Monday and Tuesday we'll do a bit of review of U2e3 before getting started on U3e1.
In Unidad 3 etapa 1 we will discuss emotions and more free-time activities. We will also cover the verb gustar along with acabar de + infinitivo.

U2e3 el 9 - 20 de diciembre
We will continue to work on Unidad2 e3. Spend some time each evening reviewing the blue vocabulary sheet. Also, keep reminding yourself how to conjugate the -er/-ir verbs. (Review the PowerPoint from the previous post.)
lunes, 9 de diciembre: We will finish our Isabel pictures. Then a few grade 8's from Central will spend some time with us. Be sure to make them feel welcome and comfortable in our (Mr. Ammon's!) classroom
Throughout the course of the week, we will intersperse working on El Cuento de Isabel with the content of Unidad 2 etapa 3. By Thursday, we'll get into groups and start planning the filming of the Isabel story, just as we did with Guillermo. Filming will likely happen on Monday, December 17. Bring props to make the video more interesting!

You need to know the meanings of all vocab from the blue sheet and the meanings of all the verbs. Know when to use ser/estar/tener/ir. We will be preparing for this test during the week.

U2 e3 el 2 - 6 de diciembre
We are now getting started on Unidad 2 etapa3. This chapter focuses on leisure activities, so you are going to learn lots of new verbs/vocabulary. We will be talking about what teenagers do in their free time. We will also be learning a new story: El Cuento de Isabel
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, grade 8 students from Lansdowne will be coming to check out the electives that Vic High offers. We will have about five students visiting our Spanish class. Let's make them feel welcome!
On Thursday, Dec. 5, there will be a quiz on conjugating -ar, -er, -ir verbs.
ex. (vivir) Nosotros _______________ en una casa.
This is pretty easy stuff, but be sure to review your notes. (Click on the Unidad 2 tab above to find the notes.) The PowerPoint below will also help you.
Next week you will have a quiz on most of the new vocab. (You will receive a study sheet for this.)
