We will continue to work on Unidad2 e3. Spend some time each evening reviewing the blue vocabulary sheet. Also, keep reminding yourself how to conjugate the -er/-ir verbs. (Review the PowerPoint from the previous post.)
lunes, 9 de diciembre: We will finish our Isabel pictures. Then a few grade 8's from Central will spend some time with us. Be sure to make them feel welcome and comfortable in our (Mr. Ammon's!) classroom
Throughout the course of the week, we will intersperse working on El Cuento de Isabel with the content of Unidad 2 etapa 3. By Thursday, we'll get into groups and start planning the filming of the Isabel story, just as we did with Guillermo. Filming will likely happen on Monday, December 17. Bring props to make the video more interesting!

martes, 18 de diciembre: Quiz on vocabulary from Unidad 2 etapa 3. This quiz will cover the vocab on the blue sheet.
jueves, 19 de diciembre: Verb test on all -ar, -er, -ir verbs PLUS the conjugations of ser, tener, ir, estar, hacer, oír and conocer. You need to know the meanings of all vocab from the blue sheet and the meanings of all the verbs. Know when to use ser/estar/tener/ir. We will be preparing for this test during the week.
viernes, 20 de diciembre: This last day of school before Christmas holidays is one of my favourites. More info to come, but be prepared to eat pancakes and have fun!

U2 e3 el 2 - 6 de diciembre
We are now getting started on Unidad 2 etapa3. This chapter focuses on leisure activities, so you are going to learn lots of new verbs/vocabulary. We will be talking about what teenagers do in their free time. We will also be learning a new story: El Cuento de Isabel
On Tuesday, Dec. 3, grade 8 students from Lansdowne will be coming to check out the electives that Vic High offers. We will have about five students visiting our Spanish class. Let's make them feel welcome!
On Thursday, Dec. 5, there will be a quiz on conjugating -ar, -er, -ir verbs.
ex. (vivir) Nosotros _______________ en una casa.

On Tuesday we will learn how to ask questions. You will be given a list of question words. You must learn what these mean!
On Wednesday we will prepare for Thursday's test.

This week we will continue our work on Unidad 2 etapa 2.
On Tuesday, November 19, you will have a quiz on la hora. This will have two parts. Part 1: students will be asked to communicate a given time in Spanish as directed by the teacher. Part 2: Teacher will say a time and student must write it down. We will practice this on Monday.
You will be assigned an oral presentation on tener que + infinitivo and la hora. This will be presented in groups on Thursday, November 21.
This week we will cover two new irregular verbs: ir (to go) and estar (to be). On Monday, November 25, there will be a quiz on the four irregular verbs: ser, tener, estar and ir.
In addition to learning the irregular verbs ir and estar, we will be covering question words such as ¿dónde? ¿cómo?, etc.

U2e1 - U2e2 el 12 - 15 de noviembre
Be sure to study for Wednesday's test on -ar verbs and vocab from U2e1. Outline is in a previous post.
After Wednesday's test, we will start U2e2. We will be learning how to tell time in Spanish. We'll be able to discuss our school timetable. Another oral presentation will be assigned later this week. This time, you'll be presenting to smaller groups instead of the whole class.
