U1 etapa 2 el 30 de septiembre - el 4 de octubre

On Monday, Sept. 30 we will finish up Unidad 1 etapa 1.  Test on Tuesday.  (See previous post for outline.  Outline is also in your notebooks.)

After the test, we will start Unidad 1 etapa 2.  This chapter is full of LOTS of new vocabulary.  We will start with the colours and clothing.  Then we'll move on to descriptive adjectives. You should review the new words each evening for 10-15 minutes.
Study the dictado below.  You will have the very same one on Friday, Oct. 4

Your teacher will say each phrase.  You will write  in Spanish and then translate  into English.

On Thursday or Friday you will also receive a study sheet on more vocabulary from this etapa.  Remember to review your vocabulary every evening.  Unidad 1 etapa 2 test on vocabulary will likely be on Wednesday, October 9.

U1e1lunes, 24 de septiembre - viernes, 27 de septiembre

We are now working on Unidad 1 etapa 1. You need to know all the vocabulary from this unit.  Don't forget that you can click on my link on the right to "classzone.com" to get straight to the activities and flashcards related to our text book.

We will continue to review "Ser" and the subject pronouns.  (see the ppt below)

Quiz on most vocab from the unit (you have the words written in your notebooks and you will also be given a handout/study sheet) will be on Friday, Sept. 27.

Your Chapter Test on Unidad 1 etapa 1 will be on Tuesday, October 2
Unidad 1 etapa 1 test:
1) Know all vocab from vocab review sheet or page 45
2)  Know the verb “Ser” to be – to say where people are from
ex. Marta / Colombia
Marta es de Colombia.
3)  Be able to say who people are based on pictures
ex. Juan es ________.  (policía)
4)  Say what people like to do based on pictures
ex.  A Teresa le gusta nadar.  (Know the verbs and know how to spell them!)
5) Answer questions ex.  ¿Cómo te llamas?  ¿De dónde eres? ¿Te gusta comer? etc.

Wednesday: Etapa Preliminar Test

On Monday and Tuesday we will finish up Etapa Preliminar.  There will be a test on Wednesday.  Here is the test outline:

Español 9:  Test on Etapa Preliminar

el alfabeto:  The teacher will spell words or say a string of letters and you write down the letters

1. los números 0-10:  Be able to spell the numbers.
   Be able to write the numbers your teacher says.
2. los días de la semana:  Be able to write the days of the week.
    Ex.  Si hoy es jueves, mañana es____________
3. saludos y despedidas:  Know how to greet people, ask them their names, ask where they’re from, etc.  Know all vocabulary that we've covered so far!
4. Be able to answer the following questions:
   ¿Cómo te llamas?
   ¿De dónde eres?
   ¿Cuál es tu teléfono?
   ¿Qué día es hoy?¿Qué día es mañana?

After Wednesday's test we will begin Unidad 1 etapa 1.  We will start learning vocabulary from this unit.  (Remember class notes and vocabulary lists are posted above.)

REMINDER:Signed forms are past due!
Come to class with all your supplies, including your agenda.
Make sure your binder has three sections:  vocabulario, actividades y ejercicios
martes, 10 :  Alfabeto quiz: 
jueves, 12 de septiembre:  Dictado (see below for the expressions you need to study)
This is exactly like the dictado that we will do in class on Tuesday.  No excuses for a poor mark!!
By Friday, Sept. 13 you need to recite for me a) days of the week  b) numbers 0-10
By next Tuesday or Wednesday, Sept. 17 or 18, you will be ready for the Etapa Preliminar Test.  I will give you an outline and a review for this test.

Dictado:
Your teacher will read the following phrases in Spanish. You must write them down in Spanish, and then translate them into English. Watch your spelling. There are a few accents to watch out for, too!
